چکیده

The bene ts of object oriented programming are well known but popular operating systems provide very few object oriented features to users and few are im plemented using object oriented techniques themselves In this paper we discuss a mechanism for apply ing object oriented programming concepts to program binding linking and execution We describe OMOS an object meta object server that embodies a exible object framework The OMOS framework projects an object oriented structure onto programs and shared li braries that may not have been originally developed for use within an object oriented environment This framework provides natural facilities for inheritance interposition and overloading of operations as well as development of classes with dynamically evolving behavior

Fast and Flexible Shared Libraries

Existing implementations of shared libraries sacriice speed (in loading, linking, and executed code), for essential exibility (in symbol binding, address space use, and interface evolution). Modern operating systems provide the primitives needed to make the dynamic linker and loader a persistent server which lives across program invocations. This can provide speed without sacriicing exibility. ...

Investigation on Reliability Estimation of Loosely Coupled Software as a Service Execution Using Clustered and Non-Clustered Web Server

Evaluating the reliability of loosely coupled Software as a Service through the paradigm of a cluster-based and non-cluster-based web server is considered to be an important attribute for the service delivery and execution. We proposed a novel method for measuring the reliability of Software as a Service execution through load testing. The fault count of the model against the stresses of users ...

Program Specialization Using the OMOS System

Abstraction and modularity provide many software engineering benefits. Hiding details of module internals can, however, prevent system implementors from being able to provide anything but a highly general implementation of a given module. We describe OMOS, a programmable linker/loader and system server that manages module implementations. OMOS allows system builders to describe system architect...

Transformations for the Optimistic Parallel Execution of Object-oriented Programs

This paper discusses the use of optimistic execution as a mechanism for parallelizing sequential object-oriented programs. Most parallelizing compilers to date have used compile-time data-dependency analysis to determine independent sections of code. This reliance on static information presents an overly restrictive view of dependencies in a program. In this paper, a set of transformations is p...

Virtual DOM Coverage: Drive an Effective Testing for Dynamic Web Applications

Test adequacy criteria are fundamental in software testing. Among them, code coverage criterion is widely used due to its simplicity and effectiveness. However, in dynamic web application testing, merely covering server-side script code is inadequate because it neglects client-side execution, which plays an important role in triggering client-server interactions to reach important execution sta...
